It's been a long time since I made a blog post due to many reasons(mostly being an Aspie nd therefore being naturally lazy about writing) but today, I have decided to make an effort and try this blogging lark again...
Anyway, the topic for this blog is INFRASTRUCTURE "IMPROVEMENTS", something we've been seeing a lot of recently, especially in London after the tragic spate of deaths last year, some of the improvements in London are actually ok, many aren't worth the crap people have to clean from the road but here in sunny Southampton(stifles a laugh), there has recently been a lot oof ongoing work to improve a major cycle route into the city, at the moment, the council is replacing what was a rather dangerous roundabout, with cycle and pedestrian friendly traffic lights and you might think "Great, SCC are finally putting road safety first" and you would be right if they knew what they were doing, which they don't, from what I've seen so far, there is going to be a mass of traffic lights and at the bus stop right on the end of the Itchen bridge by these new lights, appears be a short and VERY narrow bus bypass that will be useless and incredibly dangerous, they also seem to have so far, deviated from the original plan of making segregated cycle paths in place...
We'll see what the future holds but let's hope it stops things like this:
